Hi Mandy, what a great tips you have given Shanti about Hong-Kong. I'm from Norway and I am looking for cheap hostels and I want to do some volunteerwork. Do you have some tips for me as well? ; )
Lars
Hej Lars!
Honestly, I don’t have many ideas about hostels in HK, sorry :), but I hope I can search some information which will be useful for you. I think hostels in
http://www.hostelworld.com/hostels/Hong-Kong are quite nice choices, they usually located in the city centre and convenient to go everywhere, especially the Victoria Harbour and other famous attractions in HK.
Another option is “Mirador Mansions” there are numbers of guesthouses.
I saw many people sharing their experiences of staying at Mirador Mansions, maybe you can check them out first, some had really good but some had really bad experinces.
Chungking Mansions is quite similar to Mirador Mansions, many cheap guesthouses inside, but some saying that some hostels’ condition is worse than Mirador Mansions, but I saw there is a top rated hostel in hostelworld.com located at Chungking Mansions, maybe you can compare the prices and read the comment first. :)
http://www.instantworldbooking.com/reviews/search_reviews.php?select_subcontinent=Hong+Kong You can search some hostel in Chungking Mansions in this website.
Also, http://www.hihostels.com/dba/Hostels-Hong-Kong-list.php?lang=E&city=HK|0030 provides 3 hostels as well, but the location is not convenient. http://www.yesinn.com/hk/ehostel.htm here is another choice too.
Hope the information can help you! Feel free to contact me :D
