Hi Bjorn, how are you doing? What a great website is this. My name is Fabio and I am from Italy. Next week I will visit Belgium for 5 days. My plan is to visit Brussel, Antwerp, Gent and I have 1 city left. I hear a lot of great stories about Leuven. Do you have some tips for me? I love culture and food ; ) Ciao

If you have one day left, you must certainly visit Bruges, it is very nice to walk around, very clean, en a lot to visit, especially the nice paintings of the flemish Primitives you really cannot miss this ! I studied in Leuven, and this is a nice town too but Bruges is far more beautifull, it is called the venice of the north !

Hi Fabio, I'm fine, thank you!Well, Leuven is a city which you can visit in one day! Since you love culture, I would recommand you to visit "the old townhall"," Het Begijnhof"(is a place where a couple of centurys ago nuns used to live). It is very peace- and quitfull there.... Since a few months there is a new museum, it is called "M". I haven't visited it myself, but what i've heard it is very nice. You can also have a look in buildings owned by the University of Louvain (not in all of them, some of them are really marvelous. Try to visit the Ladeuze Square, there you can see the Library of Louvain (which is close to museum "M")and offcourse take a look at the "old market" or "oude markt" as they say in Louvain. It is the most famous place if you want to drink a beer. When you want to eat something, you can chose whatever you like. I would not recommand you to go to the "Muntstraat"; they are very pushy there. My favourite place is the "Blauwe Maan" or "BLue Moon". You can find that restaurant in the Mechelsestraat, not far from the Oude Markt (Old Market). So, I hope I 've given you some usefull information... Enjoy your stay!! If you have any other questions, just let me know.... Ciao ciao
