    This tour, lasting about 8 hours, starts off by seeing the magnificent Parthenon at the Acropolis, built in the 5th century B.C. Other highlights that you will see and visit in the city are: St. George Lycabettus – the highest point in the city with its panoramic view; the Panathinaiko Stadium – where the first modern day Olympics were held in 1896; the first university and academy of Athens; the changing of the guards at the President's Palace; and the Temple of Zeus. A trip to Athens is not complete without a visit to the oldest neighborhood in the city "Plaka" with its atmospheric maze of narrow, shop-filled streets. In the Plaka area you will see and visit the Tower of Winds, Roman Agora and Ceramiko. The National Archaeological Museum is also included on this tour – one of the world's finest museums. Enjoy a great lunch at a lovely taverna NOT visited by the tourists. There you will be able to try a wide variety of Greek dishes at very reasonable prices.
