    Follow the footsteps of Beethoven on this guided tour through Vienna's vineyards. See where Beethoven spent his summers, admire Vienna from the top of the Nussberg and enjoy a delicious wine with dinner. Climbing the vine-clad hills of suburban Nussdorf offers some of the most stunning vistas of the city and the Danube. Meet Riesling, Veltliner and Co. See them grow and take a sip. Beethoven repeatedly spent his summers here when he was working at his 2nd symphony, the “Eroica”, the “Pastorale” and the 9th. On the advice of his doctor, he lived in Heiligenstadt, from April to October 1802 in an attempt to come to terms with his loss of hearing. There he wrote his Heiligenstadt Testament, which records his resolution to continue living for and through his art. Although Vienna has grown since then we see three of his summer domiciles and end the tour in a typical winegrower’s cottage. Depending on season and weather we plan a two hours walk in hilly terrain interrupted with a short tasting stop. We visit Beethoven’s Heiligenstadt cottage and end the tour at one of the best “Heurigen” in town. All transportation is done by public transport (subway, tram).

    • You will never get a better panorama from the place I am going to take you.
